Hello Hello old and new [SDU] Players!

The server is temporarily back up and running in the wake of yet another storm of SA-MP servers banning the use of handling lines! It's a crime I tell you!

Anyways, it is unfortunate that I did not fulfill my promises made about the [SDU] comeback, and for that I am sorry. Currently the server is running on the same old [SDU] script, which currently contains only one known bug. The Elevator.

I will not be making updates to the server, so don't expect anything other than a place to place from it. Use it as you like and take a trip down memory lane with the old mapping placements; however (I know....again) expect something BIG in the future, unrelated to this server.

[SDU] Server Comeback Announcement!

Long time no posts!

[SDU] was shut down in June due to financial issues with the server hostings, and it was a huge loss for entire SA:MP drifting community, leaving them without a stable place to play for quite some time. In recent months, [SDU]'s financial issues were solved and the administration team has dug up a lot of free time for the future; so yes, there is a very large possibility that [SDU] may be coming back soon.

Me and Vertex talked about it a few nights ago and he said he wouldn't mind paying for the host once more, and I will talk more with him about that. If the server ends up not being payed for, I will continue with running it anyways on my home PC / Server, 24/7 hours now that I've made a few PC upgrades.

Not much will be different from what it was before it went down for the first while. The same SDU script will be used, however you can expect to see many regular updates which will eventually lead to a complete overhaul, bringing in truckloads of new features and aiming at making [SDU] SA:MP's #1 server for all things DR1FT. I will be appointing an administration team upon launch and also looking to assemble new members for [SDU].

You heard correct! [SDU], which is effectively a branch of [TDSD], will be publicly recruiting with application forms and trials, looking for a diverse group of drifters who either have the required skills, or have the potential to learn. This also brings me to announce that one of the many planned major additions to the new [SDU] server will be a drifting school, run by the [SDU] team and administration.

You can expect to see an [SDU] Server Comeback Video to be uploaded on YouTube and posted here when we are ready to launch the server. Please stay tuned to this blog for all further news, and if you have your own blog feel free to add us on your Associates list! Code is on the side!

Hey guys.

Most of the time on drift servers, people tend to go away from each other and do their own thing, usually at LVAP, trying to make some more crappy challenge videos or do some drift route they saw in another video. On rare occasion, people group together; and this can become either a good thing or a bad thing, making good things even more rare to happen. But when the time comes for something good to actually happen, it's great. It's what gives you those memories that make you want to come back for more, or keep you interested in the community rather than fading away in the sea of migrant self consumerism.

So this is very simple post, I just want to give a shot out to 2 drifters I met today: HondaNSX_4x4 and Mckinney. Even though they spoke a completely different language and I couldn't understand a word of what they were saying; they didn't mind that I had joined their drift session, and we drifted around for a good half hour before others joined and things fell apart. I must also say to those people out there who think they are professional drivers with the elegy, watch out for HondaNSX_4x4; unlike his name suggests, he was actually one of the best elegy drivers I have seen to date.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb - 10 minute barrier broken!

For anyone in the community that keeps up to speed with all sorts of racing events, would know that for decades, the Pikes Peak hill climb has been one of the most ballsy rally's out there; actually it probably is the most insane. Anyway, there has always been said to be a "10 minute barrier", where drives have come close to, but have never actually succeeded in getting to the top in under 10 minutes. This was not even accomplished by Ryan Millen in his Hyundai Genesis hillclimb prototype:



But all of that changed in this weekend in the 2011 Pikes Peak hill climb challenge! Where drivers from all across the world gather in a single day to try and beat the world records for their vehicle classes. It was a suprise that the 10 minute marker was broken, but it was no suprise that the driver who did it was the already 6-time world record holder, Nobuhiro Tajima:



If you don't feel like listening to the information, skip to 6:05 where the few driving scenes are shown. He finished the hill climb with an amazing 9:51 time!, 10 seconds faster than his previous 10:01 record!; With a blown engine!!

Congratulations to the 60 year old "Monster" from Japan!

[SDU] Server Update

As you can already see, the [SDU] Server and Community are now beginning to undergo a promised revival.

First off - The new blog layout.
- The blog will soon be completely redone on the sidebars aswell, with the aim of sorting things into catagories, having seperated linked pages for Server Information, FAQ, Modifications, the Black List, ect. The blog is no longer appart of the E24 blog chain and will serve only as a community portal.

-The blog has a new address, so please share it with your friends! www.sampdriftunion.blogspot.com!

Second - The new server script.
- Yes, I know...the server is not running yet, but for good reason! I am in the process of making a completely new script from scratch. Something extremely unique that you will have never seen before, and it meshes your two favorite types of gameplay into one! Roleplaying + Drifting combined to make a players heaven.

Third - Stay in contact with the [SDU] officials!
- We may not have a Facebook, but we do have an MSN. Add us to your contacts to receive alerts when there are new blog posts, or need help with game related issues.
We will try to be online with this new MSN account as much as possible!

Changed the server password in hopes to eliminate the retard population for a while. Might do regular password changes if it keeps them out. Password is posted where it was before.

Just a quick post to let you all know that we will not be moving to 0.3c. After discussing this issue with the majority of our regular players, we decided not to update the server to 0.3c. The most common problem is the s0beit / opened samp / mod compatibility with the new versions, and we, in no way, will be promoting a "Stock only" server. Until a crack is created for 0.3c that allows us to press the fire button when having mods installed, we will not be moving.

[SDU] Public Password!

Yes, that's correct! The [SDU] Community server is now being assigned a password!

We are tired of seeing completely random DMers and idiots join the server, and generally giving off the feeling like your playing on [DA]. To fix this, we are putting a password up. The catch is, this is a PUBLIC password. Meaning that, we don't care who knows it! The hopes for this password is to avoid any disruptions in the server, and make it more dedicated to the community, and not SA-MP as a whole! We want to provide you with a quality place to take your favorite sport to, and we are confident that this will help.

The password is posted on the Left side of the blog!
